What the heck is going on around here? Are we haunted?

May 23, 2014

I usually don't post on Friday nights, but an inquiry on my Facebook page about the status of the living room remodel really got me thinking. I was merrily working on remodel projects when our house decided to go into rebellion, completely haywire. What the heck happened? So much stuff has erupted in such a short time.

For the last few months we've been in full-scale defensive retreat, when it comes to time and money. Is this place built on an ancient burial ground and the poltergeists have just been awakened?

It all started with getting run off the road and damaging my truck: FINANCIAL IMPACT  -Not at the house, but it seems to be the start of the bad luck.

The electrical line feeding our pool pump needed to be repaired (again) - I didn't write about it. I didn't even take pictures. There was a nick in the wire that had burned through, underground. It took me a while to find it and fix it.

Spaghetti Western during the original repair.

We had a plumbing leak inside the wall: SURPRISE! FINDING A LEAK INSIDE THE WALL  - It's fixed but I still have to finish repairing the damage.

Sticking a smartphone in the wall.

Our underground pool vacuum line got clogged - I didn't write about it  due to a photography failure, but I used a new widget to blast it out. This bellows of canvas goes on the end of a garden hose and expands to fill a pipe. I blew a load of miscellaneous crap backwards into the pool clearing the clog.

The HOA demanded that we remove a couple trees: WE NOTED A DEAD TREE(S) ON YOUR PROPERTY  - done, but I still have to haul off the logs and debris.

The bathroom mirror broke : FIX IT: THE FANTASTICAL POWERS OF JB WELD, REPAIRING THE VANITY MIRROR - Done!

The toilet valve failed and had to be replaced - I didn't post about it. I kinda forgot. - Done!

The water heater failed: REPLACING A WATER HEATER  - Done!

The drip irrigation system in the back yard has completely self destructed - repairs are underway now! Merry weekend!

I feel like I missed something, with all the running around with end of school year stuff. Either way, I'm proclaiming it OVER!!! I'm going to start gaining on it this weekend and will soon return to the proactive operations.

Who knows what I can accomplish this lovely Memorial Day weekend.

How about you? Relaxing of getting some stuff done? Enjoy your holiday friends!

Thank you to our troops who have sacrificed so much.
